This policy explains how RetailLeads (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in Retaileads. It covers two groups of people: our customers and website visitors, and the businesses listed in our database and the people behind them.
Part 1: Customers and website visitors
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash), and your two-factor authentication settings if you turn it on.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive and keep the Stripe payment, checkout, customer and subscription references, the amount, the currency, the dates, the subscription status and any refund. We never see or store your card details.
- Exports: the filters for each export you create, and the CSV file, which is deleted after 30 days. On the Monthly plan we also keep a record of which businesses you have exported, to count your monthly allowance and keep those businesses unlocked for you.
- Technical: while you are signed in, your session, including your IP address and browser type; and server logs of requests and errors, which we use for security and debugging.
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. The public pages of our website set no cookies.
Cookies
When you sign in, we set only the cookies needed to run the Service: a session cookie, a security cookie that protects forms, and a “remember me” cookie if you choose it. We do not use cookies for marketing.
How we use it
- to provide the Service, run your searches and build your exports;
- to take payments and handle refunds;
- to keep the Service and your account secure and to prevent abuse;
- to send you account emails, such as password resets and notices of important changes;
- to answer you when you contact us, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent information about our customers, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that run the Service for us, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Stripe, for payments;
- Amazon Web Services, for hosting and our database, in the United States;
- [EMAIL PROVIDER], to send account emails;
- Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net), which serves the fonts on our pages and so receives your IP address.
- Font Awesome (kit.fontawesome.com), which serves the icons on our public pages and so receives your IP address.
- Google Maps, which draws the map when you open a business's details and so receives your IP address and the location shown.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a buyer as part of a merger or sale of the business.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information until you delete your account. Deleting it, under Settings, removes your account, purchase records and exports from our systems. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires. Signed-in sessions expire after two hours of inactivity, and we keep server logs for a limited period.
Your choices and rights
You can see and correct your account details under Settings, and delete your account there at any time. To get a copy of your information, or for any other privacy request, email support@retaileads.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share our customers’ personal information. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Security
We use encrypted connections, store passwords only as hashes, offer two-factor authentication, and limit who can access our systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Part 2: Businesses listed in our database
What the database holds
Retaileads lists US businesses compiled from multiple public sources of business listings, including the details businesses publish online and on major maps and directory services. A listing can include the business’s name, category, street address, phone number, website, email address, social media profiles and map location, as published in those sources. We do not collect listings by scraping inboxes, and we do not guess email addresses.
Most listings describe businesses, not people. Some can relate to an identifiable person, for example a sole proprietor, or a business that lists a personal email address or phone number.
Who sees it
Our paying customers, who may use it to contact businesses under our Terms of Service. Our website also shows counts and masked sample listings to the public.
Removal and correction
If you own or represent a listed business and want its listing removed or corrected, email support@retaileads.com with the business’s name and address. We will remove or correct it in the Service within 30 days.
Retaileads is rebuilt from the latest open data with each update, so a listing that is still in the original data can reappear after an update. To keep it out for good, also update or remove it at the source: the business’s listings on the major maps and directory services that open data draws from. Removal does not affect lists our customers exported before it.
California residents: where a listing contains personal information about you, our customers’ access to it may count as a “sale” under California law. You can opt out by asking us to remove the listing as described above, and you have the other rights described in Part 1.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, if you have an account, tell you by email or in the Service.
